Zumbrota
Zumbrota (11 miles) is home to the Authentic Covered Bridge, many historic renovated buildings, an 18-hole golf course, fine dining, and cheese stores. Annual events include the County Fair in August, Crazy Days, and chicken feed.
Mantorville
The nearby town of Mantorville (20 miles) offers a historical recreation of the 1880s with the Old Covered Bridge, dance hall, sheriff's office, the Hubble House restaurant, and an opera house that holds melodramas on weekends in the summer.
Pine Island
Pine Island (3 miles) is the home of the Douglas State Bike Trail. Visitors also enjoy the local brewery - SxSE (South by Southeast). The town is also known for its Annual June Cheese Festival.
Red Wing
Red Wing (34 miles) is a scenic river town with a beautiful view of the bluffs. Attractions include Memorial Skyline Drive, Goodhue County Historical Society Museum, Red Wing Potteries, and Red Wing Shoes. A local brewery has been added that also serves pizza.
Rochester
Rochester (12 miles) is home to the world-renowned Mayo Clinic and is also well-known for its population of wild Canadian geese that make Silver Lake their year-round home. The city's annual celebration, Rochesterfest, takes place in June. Also popular are the breweries and a winery. We recommend taking tours of the Olmsted County Historical Society, Mayo Clinic, Mayo Medical Museum, and Mayowood Estate, the estate of Dr. Charles H. Mayo, constructed in 1910.
Cannon Falls
Cannon Falls (32 miles) provides access to a variety of recreational activities, such as biking, hiking, tubing, and canoeing. Also popular are the local winery and brewery. The city hosts the 4th of July Cannon Valley Fair.
Wanamingo
Wanamingo (17 miles) is home to the restored Larson Pioneer Family Cabin and has an annual 4th of July celebration.
Oronoco
Oronoco (2 miles) is a fun little town where you can find a variety of treasures at Oronoco's annual Gold Rush Days, which is a 3-day antique show and flea market in August. You can also find a canoe/kayak outfitter in town to guide you or rent equipment to glide down the Zumbro River.
